Kite Day
Last Friday was kite day, where you make a kite and try to fly it. Lexie and I partnered up and made a kite together. In our kite, we had bamboo in a cross shape and wrapped it in black silage wrap. We added two holes and some string. We went outside to try to fly it and we had no luck. We went back inside and took the silage wrap off and noticed our bamboo had snapped. I had a backup plan so we tried that, but Lexie wanted to fix our old one so she did that while I made my new one. My backup plan was to get a piece of bamboo and tape a plastic bag on also attach string and a tail. Lexie managed to fix our kite by taping the bamboo back together and wrapping it in silage wrap again. I managed to have a little try to fly my kite, but it wouldn't fly. After all, it wasn't really windy at all sadly. It was time to fly our kites and because it was not windy we got each class to just run across the field and try to make them fly. Not many people's kites did fly, but two or three did. Mine went probably a meter high and I am happy with that. Lexie's kite did around the same as mine and we had a great day. On Monday we tried to fly them again and my kite got tangled up. We fixed it up though. Yay!
